Nashr

Your video, live on your YouTube channel.

Give Nashr a video file or a stream link. It goes out as a live broadcast on the channel you connect, and keeps running after you close the browser.

No software to install. Works on a phone.

Demo Channel, 1080p

This is a demo. Press Go live to see how it works; nothing is sent.

From file to live in four steps

  1. Step 1

    Connect your channel

Sign in with Google and pick the YouTube channel to stream to. Live streaming must be turned on for it in YouTube Studio.

  2. Step 2

    Choose the source

Upload a video file, or paste the link to a live stream you run: HLS, RTMP or a direct file link.

  3. Step 3

    Go live

Nashr creates the broadcast on your channel and starts sending video from its servers. This takes a few seconds.

  4. Step 4

    Close the tab

The stream keeps running without your computer. Come back to check its health or stop it, from a phone or a desktop.

What people stream with it

Recorded lessons, shown live

Teach once, record it, and let the class watch together at the set hour with live chat open.

A camera feed you already have

A mosque, a hall or a studio with an encoder that outputs HLS or RTMP can reach YouTube without a PC on site.

Your own channel on repeat

Loop a recording you made, so there is always something on when people arrive.

Stream what is yours

Nashr is for video you made or have a licence to broadcast. Every stream asks you to confirm that, and streams of other people's films, channels or sports are stopped.

Read the content policy
  • Your own recordings and events
  • Lessons, talks and podcasts you produced
  • Video you hold a written licence for
  • Public domain and Creative Commons video, within its licence

Questions people ask first

Do I need to install anything?

No. You connect your YouTube channel, choose a video or paste a stream link, and start the stream from your browser. Our servers send the video to YouTube, so you can close the tab and the stream keeps running.

What can I use as a source?

A video file you upload (MP4, MOV or MKV), or a link to a live stream you run yourself: HLS (.m3u8), RTMP or a direct video file link.

What am I allowed to stream?

Only video you made yourself or have a licence to broadcast. Films, TV channels and sports broadcasts that belong to someone else are not allowed, and streams that break this rule are stopped.

Does my channel need anything set up first?

Live streaming has to be turned on for the channel in YouTube Studio. The first time, YouTube takes up to 24 hours to enable it.

Can Nashr post or delete videos on my channel?

Nashr only asks Google for permission to create and manage live broadcasts. You can remove that permission at any time from your Google account or from the Channels page.
